Dr. Jill Bruno grew up between Buffalo, New York and Bay Beach, Ontario, where her childhood revolved around her love for horses—especially her two beloved companions, Party Dress and Silver Shadow. Most weekends were spent traveling the Northeast to compete in horse shows, and she proudly displays her collection of ribbons and horse memorabilia in the office. Patients often describe a visit to Dr. Bruno’s office as a “walk in the clouds,” a fitting reflection of the calm, welcoming atmosphere she’s carefully cultivated. Whether treating children, teens, or adults, she’s known for making every patient feel at ease—no matter if they're wearing braces, Invisalign, or something in between. Her goal is to make every orthodontic experience as uplifting as it is transformative.
Dr. Bruno graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She went on to earn both her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) and a master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania. She then completed her orthodontic certificate at the Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester.
Her commitment to education led her back to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she served as a clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics. She later moved to Ohio, where she became an assistant clinical professor in orthodontics at Case Western Reserve University while continuing to treat patients in private practice. Dr. Bruno is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a prestigious honor awarded to professionals who demonstrate excellence, ethics, and leadership in the field.
Since opening her orthodontic practice in Chevy Chase in 2004, Dr. Bruno has become known for her attentive, patient-focused care and serene practice environment. She treats patients of all ages using a range of orthodontic techniques, including traditional braces and Invisalign®. Her background in both education and clinical instruction allows her to break down complex treatment plans into easy-to-understand steps, helping patients feel informed and confident every step of the way.
Dr. Bruno has been consistently recognized as a “Top Doctor” by both Washingtonian and Bethesda magazines, a reflection of her clinical excellence, patient trust, and strong ties to the local community.
Dr. Bruno lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Jim, and their three children: Ella, Clayton, and Wilkes. She’s an active part of the community and can often be seen walking their brindle-coated rescue dog, Duke, around the neighborhood. Outside of work, Dr. Bruno enjoys horseback riding, golf, tennis, and spending quality time with her family and Duke.
Dr. Bruno and her staff are very welcoming and efficient. As a 70+ year old I came to Dr. Bruno at the suggestion of my general dentist, who thought that I might lose a front tooth if I did not have orthodontia. I was skeptical of my need for braces, but Dr. Bruno used their amazing technology to demonstrate the problem and probable outcome if I did not act.The procedure has straightened my teeth--and helped me to lose weight! (Removing Invisalign appliances and then, brushing your teeth, each time you eat or drink anything beyond water is a deterrent to snacking between meals.)Everyone is caring and professional.
